Shree Ram is one of the most
revered and worshiped deities in Hinduism. He is believed to be the seventh
incarnation of Lord Vishnu and is considered to be the epitome of righteousness
and virtue. The life story of Shree Ram is depicted in the epic Ramayana, which
is one of the greatest works of Hindu literature.
Shree Ram was born to King
Dasharatha and Queen Kaushalya in Ayodhya. His birth was a much-awaited event
as King Dasharatha had been longing for a son for many years. To ensure that
his son had a bright future, King Dasharatha decided to conduct a yagna (ritual
sacrifice). During the yagna, the gods were pleased and blessed the king with
four sons, with Shree Ram being the eldest.
Shree Ram was known for his
unwavering devotion to his parents, especially his mother. He was also deeply
devoted to his wife, Sita, whom he married after winning her hand in a
swayamvar (a ritual where a bride chooses her husband from among suitors).
In the epic Ramayana, Shree Ram is
portrayed as a just and righteous king who always put the welfare of his people
above his own desires. His most famous feat was the defeat of Ravana, the demon
king of Lanka, who had abducted Sita. Shree Ram, with the help of his loyal
followers, fought a fierce battle against Ravana's army and emerged victorious.
He then rescued Sita and returned to Ayodhya, where he was crowned as the king.
Throughout his life, Shree Ram
demonstrated his adherence to the principles of dharma (righteousness) and his
unwavering commitment to duty. He is widely revered and celebrated in Hindu
festivals such as Diwali, which marks the day of his return to Ayodhya after
defeating Ravana.
Shree Ram's life story continues
to inspire millions of people around the world. His unwavering commitment to
righteousness and his devotion to his family and people serve as a guiding
light for those seeking to lead a virtuous life. His teachings continue to be
relevant even today, and his legacy continues to live on in the hearts and
minds of people.
